5 Jul – "Fly By Night" is no stranger to film festivals and now the Zahir Omar-helmed movie is also part of the lineup for Bangkok ASEAN Film Festival (BAFF) 2019. Held in neighbouring country, Thailand, from 3 to 8 July, the movie will be screened at the film festival in competition for the Best ASEAN Film award. Previously, the Bront Palarae, Jack Tan, and Sunny Pang-starrer was also picked for other international film festivals including the Udine Far East Film Festival, the Winter Showcase New York Asian Film Festival, Busan International Film Festival, International Film Festival & Awards Macao and Jogja NETPAC Asian Film Festival. Another Malaysian movie that is screening at BAFF 2019 is "Motif". The Nadiah Hamzah-helmed movie, which stars Sharifah Amani, Rosyam Nor and Iedil Putra, has yet to open in local cinemas but it has been selected for BAFF 2019's ASEAN Showcase alongside movies such as "The Prey" (Cambodia), "7 Letters" (Singapore) and "Friend Zone" (Thailand).
