24 Dec – After opening in cinemas nationwide on 20 December, "Ip Man 4" has managed to set a new record at the local box office.

Within just three days of screening, the movie collected RM10.5 million at the box office, making it the biggest Chinese movie opening of all time in Malaysia.

Local distributor Lotus Five Star shared the good news on its Facebook page.

"Ip Man 4" marks Donnie Yen's final reprisal as the titular kung fu master, though he assured fans that he would still be showing off his fighting skills in upcoming action movies.

During his recent visit to Malaysia, the actor shared that fans' enthusiasm from around the world, including those from Africa's Maasai tribe, was his reason for agreeing to one last "Ip Man" movie, despite previously saying that he would stop at three.

Directed by Wilson Yip, "Ip Man 4" also stars Scott Adkins, Danny Chan and Vanness Wu.
