Jackie Chan to receive Britannia Award for Contribution to Entertainment


Jackie Chan adds another accolade to his awards list.

26 Jul – Hong Kong action star Jackie Chan has been chosen to be the recipient of this year's BAFTA Los Angeles' Albert R. Broccoli Britannia Award for Worldwide Contribution to Entertainment.

As reported on Deadline, the actor will be accepting the said honour at the upcoming 2019 British Academy Britannia Awards, which will be held this 25 October at the Beverly Hilton.

According to BAFTA Los Angeles CEO, Chantal Rickards, "Over his 50-year career, Jackie has become a beloved, revered personality we all know and love for his innovative stunt work and unique blend of martial arts and comedy. He rose from rags-to-riches through years of hard work and tireless dedication to perfecting his craft, ultimately earning him global fame and success."

Among other honourees in the past were Jane Fonda, Sir Ben Kingsley, and Dame Judi Dench.

In related news, Jackie's upcoming flick, "The Mystery of the Dragon Seal: Journey to China", is set to be released this August. The movie co-stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Charles Dance, and Christopher Fairbank.
