4 Mar - Looks like Johnny Depp is turning invisible in Hollywood as he is no longer the lead for Universal's "Invisible Man", which he's been cast for since 2016. Speculations of him being dropped from the movie started in January and the news is confirmed when Variety brought word that another star is being eyed for the lead role. Reportedly, Elisabeth Moss is now in talks to play the title character (Invisible Woman?). Other details are still kept under wrap so it is still unknown who else will be joining Moss in the cast.
Plot is also still unknown as "Insidious: The Last Key" helmer Leigh Whannell, who will be directing and writing the movie, has only joined the project in January and is working on it. However, it is known that his remake will have different interpretations of the titular character and its origins. So Whannell's version will differ from the original 1933 "Invisible Man" that was adapted from H.G. Wells' 1897 novel of the same name and the 1940 sequel "The Invisible Man Returns". Whether Moss is taking on the role or not, fans can still catch her soon in Jordan Peele-helmed psychological horror-thriller "Us" and the crime comedy-drama "The Kitchen" this September.
