New info on "John Wick 4" and upcoming female-led spinoff

Keanu Reeves will very likely be back for the fourth movie but probably
not for the female-led spinoff.

21 May – John Wick has only been back in his third movie for one weekend but looks like he is already set to return once again in a fourth movie.

Lionsgate revealed via text message, as shared by Polygon: "You have served. You will be of service. "John Wick: Chapter 4" is coming – May 21, 2021."

So not only is a fourth instalment confirmed, it also comes with a set release date so fans will know exactly how long a wait they have for it.

So far no other info on "John Wick: Chapter 4" has been revealed. It could be expected that Keanu Reeves will be reprising his titular assassin role and Chad Stahelski, who's helmed all three movies in the franchise so far, will also be back in the director's seat.

The female-led "John Wick" spinoff will focus on a ballerina out for revenge.

Aside from that, the female-led spinoff, "Ballerina", that was announced a couple of years back is now in development. The introduction to the spinoff was set up recently in "John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum", in a scene where a tattoo-clad ballerina was seen dancing solo in front of Anjelica Huston's character, The Director.

According to ComingSoon.Net, the spinoff, set in the same world as "John Wick", will follow the Ballerina as the assassin goes after the people who killed her family.

It's no surprise that the "John Wick" franchise is expanding substantially, what with its video game adaptation as well, since each movie receives an even better reception than the last.

"John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum" collected USD93.3 million worldwide on its opening weekend, even knocking off "Avengers: Endgame" from the top spot at the North American box office.
