5 Apr - Bonjour! It's that time again where Malaysians can inject some French culture into their veins with the 19th edition of Le French Film Festival. This year would be the largest French film festival in Malaysia, as 15 award winning films are lined up at selected GSC International Screens. At the opening ceremony, Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Zatashah, President of Alliance Française Kuala Lumpur (AFKL) promised that this year's festival will be the a first of its kind to allow for this level of the cross-over of cultures. Mr. Jacques Bounin, Director of AFKL, reaffirms the significant role LFF 2019 plays in creating a bridge for dynamic cultural exchange as the French language progressively grounds itself as a global language that empowers one to travel, study abroad, work internationally, and develop businesses in emerging countries. "With French ranked as the sixth most-widely spoken language in the world, there's no denying its importance in this day and age. It is our mission to introduce the French culture to Malaysia that would help expand horizons through an immersive platform that educates, entertains, and edifies," shared Mr. Jacques Bounin. The festival is currently running in the Klang Valley and will go on until 21 April 2019 before moving on to Penang from 25th April to 5th May 2019. From 2nd to 5th May, the festival will move to Johor before making its final bow at Kota Kinabalu from 9th to 12th May 2019. Organised by Alliance Francaise (AF) and the Embassy of France in Malaysia, tickets for the French titles are available for purchase on GSC's website.
