25 Sep – With the COVID-19 pandemic still pretty much a threat, Andy Lau has decided to cancel his annual get-together with his fans to celebrate his birthday, and instead opted for an online event. As reported on Mingpao, the actor, who is turning 59 on 27 September, reportedly has been holding meetings with his staff to plan his online birthday party, which he has aptly named "Love Connection". Andy reportedly has been throwing ideas around to make it a fun event for his fans, whom he regarded as family, with sources saying that he has high expectation for the event to go well. An update posted on Instagram by his fan shows the poster below, captioned, "TME live will exclusively present Love Connection Andy Lau Birthday Party on 20:00 Sep 27 with all the beloved fans. Stay tuned at Kugou Music, Kuwo Music and WeSing for the warm and touching celebration."
It is noted, however, that this is not the first online event Andy had held this year. Back in June, the Hong Kong superstar celebrated his fan club Andy World Club's 32nd anniversary with a 20-minute video. Posted on the fan club's official website, it showed him performing his hit songs and sharing titbits about his personal life and acting career. (Photo source: @ANDYLAUoX Instagram)
