16 Mar – Happening this week in Phnom Penh is the 10th edition of the Cambodian International Film Festival (CIFF). This year, a total of two Malaysian titles have been selected for the film festival. First is the Kabir Bhatia-helmed "Sangkar", which pits Zul Ariffin against Remy Ishak in the MMA ring. The movie is screened under CIFF's International Feature Films section. Other movies in this section include the Oscar-winning "Parasite", the Thai cave rescue story "The Cave", Chinese romantic crime film "Better Days", several Hollywood titles such as "Bombshell", "Dark Waters" and "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood", and Korean titles including "Exit", "Ashfall" and "Kim Ji-Young: Born 1982". The other title representing Malaysia at CIFF 2020 is "Burn" by Kwok Yong, screened under the International Short Films section. Meanwhile, showing under the Scary World section of CIFF 2020 are two Singaporean titles, "Konpaku" by Remi M Sali, which tells the story of Haqim and the strange things happening to those close to him after he starts seeing a Japanese girl named Midori, and "Repossession" by Goh Ming Siu, which follows 50-year-old Jim who loses his job but hides it from his family. CIFF 2020 takes place from 13 to 22 March in various locations across Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
