15 Oct – The National Film Development Corporation (FINAS) has launched the 'Insentif Saringan Prihatin', which will provide incentive to production companies whose actors and film crew are taking the COVID-19 swab testing. This follows the government's decision to allow filming activities to carry out as normal throughout the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) that was recently reinstated in Selangor, Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur from 14 October to 27 October. According to FINAS chairman Zakaria Abdul Hamid in a statement released yesterday, FINAS will ensure the safety of the production cast and crew on set, aside from curbing the coronavirus' spread. However, the incentive is limited to production companies that are registered under FINAS only, whose filming activities are done only throughout the CMCO, and the companies are to bear the cost first. "The cost of the COVID-19 swab testing on the cast and crew must first be paid by the production companies and they will have to submit the claim documents to FINAS. "The maximum rate for the incentive is RM5,000 per production company. The swab testing can only be done through the FINAS Special Package at the registered panel clinic, which is Megaklinik Zahran, Bandar Baru Bangi. "Megaklinik Zahran personnel are also allowed to do the testing at approved filming locations," he said.
