"The King's Man" was originally scheduled to open in cinemas this September.

28 Aug – The wait was almost over for fans anticipating the release of the "Kingsman" prequel in cinemas, but now they'll have to wait just a few months more as the movie's release date has been postponed yet again.

"The King's Man", previously set to be released next month, has now been postponed to next year.

The third instalment of the "Kingsman" film franchise will only open in North American cinemas on 26 February 2021 now, having been moved from its September 2020 slot.

Deadline speculated this could be to avoid losing screens, since the Disney movie would be competing with Warner Bros.' "Tenet", which will likely be film exhibitors' top priority at the moment.

Disney, however, assured that the movie will open in cinemas and will not be moved online as the studio did with its live-action "Mulan".

"The King's Man", directed by Matthew Vaughn, is an origin story of Kingsman, the British intelligence service that was the focus of 2015's "Kingsman: The Secret Service" and 2017's "Kingsman: The Golden Circle".

Ralph Fiennes leads a star-studded cast that includes Gemma Arterton, Rhys Ifans, Matthew Goode, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Daniel Brühl and Djimon Honsou.

Originally, "The King's Man" was scheduled to be theatrically released in North America on 15 November 2019. It was later moved to Valentine's Day 2020 but was delayed again by the pandemic to 18 September, before being pulled completely from this year's release schedule and moved to 2021.
