10 Nov – The 4th edition of the Malaysia International Film Festival (MIFFest) will no longer be held next month, as it has now been postponed to next year. Originally scheduled to run from 5 to 10 December 2020, the film festival has to be delayed due to the current nationwide cinema closures. "As the film festival will physically take place at local cinemas, the festival committee has decided to postpone the event until 2021," MIFFest stated. "The health and safety of filmmakers, artistes, audiences, crew and staff members are our priority and concern. This decision has been reached in response to the worldwide efforts in taking preventative measures to contain the pandemic." The tentative new date for the film festival is January 2021, though this will be subject to cinema availability by then.
