18 Aug – The team behind the "Eye on the Ball" documentary has finally decided to release the movie on Astro First, following the delay of its theatrical release since several months ago due to the COVID-19 pandemic. "The wait is over! "Eye on the Ball", our first cinema film featuring the inspiring true story of Malaysia's national blind football team, premieres Aug 20 on Astro First (Channel 480)," it was posted on the movie's official Twitter account. " Eye on the Ball ", which was supposed to have been released in local cinemas on 19 March 2020, tells the story of a team of blind Malaysian footballers, known as Harimau Buta (Blind Tiger), who dreams of becoming professional athletes. It follows Asri, Kenchot and Rollen as well as coach Sunny Shalesh who share the same mission and dream, to defend their 2017 ASEAN Para Games` championship title and to qualify their team for the World Blind Football Championships. Sunny has been training blind football players since 2009, as he believes that the sport can be utilised as a social awareness tool by giving attention to the players' ability. "Eye on the Ball" is produced by R.AGE under the Star Media Group, with support from CIMB Foundation. The premiere of the Chen Yih Wen-helmed movie was held at a Petaling Jaya cinema last March, attended by more than 800 guests. (Photo source: Astro Shaw's Twitter)
