2 Apr – After zombie horror thriller "Train to Busan" took over the world in 2016, director Yeon Sang-ho is back with a follow-up by the name of "Peninsula". Several images of the upcoming sequel had been shared online before, but now there's an official teaser that will show anticipating audiences just what they can expect from the apocalyptic zombie movie. It follows a soldier, Jung-seok, played by one of South Korea's leading men Kang Dong-won, facing off against zombies. Also highlighted in the teaser is Min-jeong, played by singer Lee Jung-hyun.
"Peninsula", or "Train to Busan Presents: Peninsula" as it is known in some territories, is expected to open in cinemas this summer. There've been no words of postponement, but fans might still need to brace themselves for it considering the current global COVID-19 pandemic. Below is the official "Peninsula" synopsis from YouTube: "Four years after South Korea's total decimation in TRAIN TO BUSAN, the zombie thriller that captivated audiences worldwide, acclaimed director Yeon Sang-ho brings us PENINSULA, the next nail-biting chapter in his post-apocalyptic world. Jung-seok, a soldier who previously escaped the diseased wasteland, relives the horror when assigned to a covert operation with two simple objectives: retrieve and survive. When his team unexpectedly stumbles upon survivors, their lives will depend on whether the best-or worst-of human nature prevails in the direst of circumstances."
