28 May – British actor and "Tenet" star Aaron Taylor-Johnson, known for "Kick-Ass" and the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) "Quicksilver", is set to play another comic book character soon. The actor was revealed to have been cast in Sony's Marvel film, "Kraven the Hunter", one of the most iconic antiheroes known in the Marvel Universe for being Spider-Man's most formidable enemies. The upcoming film will be helmed by JC Chandor ("A Most Violent Year").
Born Sergei Kravinoff, Kraven the Hunter is a big-game hunter who likes to take down his prey with his bare hands. He develops his powers after meeting a witch doctor and consuming a potion. And to prove himself as the world's greatest hunter, Kraven decides to take down Spider-Man. Kraven is just one of the few Marvel villain movies that Sony has in store aside from "Venom: Let There Be Carnage", which will be coming out this September, and the Jared Leto-starrer "Morbius", which will be released in 2022.
