2 Dec - Mohd Amen Khalid recently revealed that he is doing his best to take over his dad's director's seat following Mamat Khalid's passing in October. The 25-year-old, who is currently directing Mamat's telemovie, "Kampung Pisang Berbuah Dua Kali", stated that everything has been smooth for now, thanks to everybody involved in the project. "It's hard to say with words how nervous I have been about taking over this responsibility. It would be impossible to say that there weren't any obstacles during filming, but it made me more motivated," he said.
Amen admitted that the fact that he is a young director trying to direct actors who are more experienced than him was quite daunting, but that he has done his best to fulfill his father's wish. The upcoming telemovie stars senior actors including Aziz M Osman, Kazar, Bell Ngasri, Joey Daud and Mat London. As for his future projects, Amen said that he and his brothers are determined to continue with their father's legacy by studying Mamat's previous movies and continuing his work. Mamat Khalid passed away on 24 October from cardiac arrest. He was 58.
