15 Nov – Rumour has it that Arjun Rampal will be portraying the popular role of The Professor in the upcoming Bollywood adaptation of the Netflix hit Spanish heist series, "Money Heist" ("La Casa de Papel"). This was revealed by a source to Pinkvilla, stating that the actor has been cast for the upcoming remake called "Three Monkeys" to be helmed by director duo Abbas-Mustan, alongside Abbas' son Mustafa, who will also play an important role in the movie. "Arjun Rampal's character is on the lines of Professor from Money Heist, whereas Mustafa along with two other actors will be playing the robbers," the source stated. "All the three robbers, alongside the Professor, will have a unique dimension, with all working together for a hidden motive of personal gains." The source also added that the sibling filmmakers, Abbas Alibhai Burmawalla and Mustan Alibhai Burmawalla, will be bringing their own flavour to the said remake, which will be released in 2022.
It is noted that Abbas-Mustan are also currently working on another project with Arjun - a web series that will also star Bobby Deol. It will revolve around a group of five friends who turn against each other when a dead body is found in their house. This is different from what Spanish director Alex Rodrigo once envisioned in an interview with Behindwoods, saying that he would see Tamil superstar Vijay being the suitable person to play the role. The original series revolves around a group of criminals led by one mastermind called The Professor breaking into the Royal Mint of Spain and remaining there for 11 days as they deal with elite police forces. The character of The Professor is played by Alvaro Morte.
