2 Jul – Good news to fans of the Netflix movie, "The Old Guard": There will indeed be movie number two!

The news was confirmed by lead actress Charlize Theron, who spoke about the project in a recent interview, saying that the script has already been completed and that filming will begin in 2022.

Aside from herself, the actress stated that Marwan Kenzari and Luca Marinelli, who plays Joe and Nicky, will also make their return.

Based on the comic book series "The Old Guard" by Greg Rucka and directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, the film starred Theron as Andy - short for Andromache the Scythian - a centuries-old immoral warrior with unexplained regenerative healing abilities who leads a team immortal mercenaries like her, taking missions that help people. Gathered through the centuries, there are four of them left. However, a new immortal has now emerged and Andy must recruit her. She is Nile, played by KiKi Layne.
