4 Jun – "John Wick 4" is expanding its cast line-up to now include martial arts actor, Donnie Yen. According to Deadline, the "Ip Man" star will be playing an old friend of the titular character - played by Keanu Reeves - who also shares similar history with the said assassin as well as many of his enemies. Said director Chad Stahelski, "We are very lucky to have Donnie Yen join the franchise. I am looking forward to working with him in this exciting new role."
Prior to "John Wick", Donnie has already done several Hollywood projects including "xXx: Return of Xander Cage", "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story", as well as the Disney live-action film, "Mulan". Donnie is not the only Asian star to be cast in the upcoming project, as his casting came after Japanese-British pop star Rina Sawayama. On the other hand, the actor is set to share his experience and perspective on films at the Shanghai International Film Festival's Masterclass on 14 June. His next movie will be "Raging Fire" - the last project by late director Benny Chan. It is scheduled for a July release. On a separate note, check out Donnie's musical talent below.
