16 Aug – Ryan Reynolds recently revealed that Disney is green-lighting a sequel to his new comedy movie, "Free Guy".

The actor shared the good news on Twitter on 14 August, posting a gif of co-star Taika Waititi's character saying the words, "Albuquerque boiled turkey" and wrote, "Aaaannnnd after 3 years messaging #FreeGuy as an original IP movie, Disney confirmed today they officially want a sequel. Woo hoo!! #irony."

He added, "If it isn't called, "Albuquerque Boiled Turkey" we've failed."

20th Century Studios also confirmed the news by retweeting Reynolds' post, while director Shawn Levy shared it in a quote tweet, adding "Yuuuuuuuup."

"Free Guy", which was delayed twice since last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, made USD 10.5 million in its debut when it opened last week. It stars Reynolds as a bank teller named Guy who after finding out that he is actually an NPC (non-player character) inside an open world video game, decided to become the hero of the story.
