30 Apr - It was a twin-celebratory event for Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) on 27 April at the Aurum Theatre at The Gardens Mall in Kuala Lumpur.
GSC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ms. Koh Mei Lee was conferred with the rank of Chevalier (Knight) by the France National Order of Merit, and thereafter, 'France in Cinema" - a series of six films for Malaysians to experience French films – was launched.
The honour was presented to Ms Koh by His Excellency Mr. Roland Galharague, Ambassador of France to Malaysia, for her contribution to the advancement and development of French culture by bringing French cinema to the Malaysian audience.
Invited guests and members of the media were invited to dinner at JIN Gastrobar while being serenaded by songstress Janet Lee, who was accompanied on the keyboard by Tay Cher Siang. Her rendition of 'La Vie En Rose' was very apt for the event, followed by 'Getaran Jiwa' and several more.
After dinner and a toast, the guests were ushered to the hall for the screening of the French comedy-drama film "School Life" (La vie scolaire).
