13 Aug – Hugh Jackman has really learned his lesson when it comes to sharing photos on social media, having made fans excited for nothing with two previous images that he had shared on Instagram earlier. It all started last month, when Jackman posted an Instagram Story of an artwork of Wolverine created by Bosslogic, and then decided to share another photo of him with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige. The move sparked a lot of speculations in the Marvel fandom, with many immediately latching onto the idea that Jackman could be teasing his return as Wolverine within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In a recent interview, Jackman stated that he was sorry for the blunder he made, denying that he was making his Wolverine comeback. "I literally was re-posting fan art and I do it quite a bit because I just love it. And I love the fans. And then I was off doing something and I came back and I'm like, 'Oh, I think I broke the Internet. No, no, no, no. Guys, sorry. Didn't mean that. I really didn't mean that. I'm really sorry.' And I thought, 'No one's going to believe me'," he stated. "But that was the case. And you guys are just too fast for me. Clearly way too fast and smarter than me. I just love the fans. And so, when cool things come my way, I'm going to pass it on." It is noted that Jackman announced that he was retiring from playing the beloved X-Men character after starring in the Oscar-nominated "Logan" back in 2017, having played the role in several X-Men movies since 2000.
