3 Aug – Although it has only recently been released, it was revealed that Disney's "Jungle Cruise" will definitely have movie number two. The news was revealed by lead actor Dwayne Johnson himself, albeit through a tweet thanking someone who praised the movie on Twitter on 1 August. "Thank you, buddy!" Johnson tweeted. "Glad you guys loved [Jungle Cruise] and we have a sequel meeting next weekend."
It is noted that the movie has received mostly positive reviews from the critics who praised Johnson and co-star Emily Blunt for their chemistry and entertainment value. It also had a high audience score on the movie review site, Rotten Tomatoes, which really excited Johnson as he revealed on Instagram, "Just blown away. Thank you!!! Highest Rotten Tomatoes audience score of my entire career, and that's a long ass time cause I'm a dinosaur. Jumanji 87%, Jumanji 2 87%, Hobbs 88%, Moana 89%, JUNGLE CRUISE 94%! People have spoken!"
The film has grossed over USD 61 million in the box office and made USD 30 million in Disney+ Premier Access global revenue in its opening weekend on 30 July. "Jungle Cruise" stars Emily Blunt as Lily, who enlists Frank (Johnson) to ferry her and her brother (Jack Whitehall) up the river in search of a mythical tree with unparalleled healing properties. They then encounter several characters including a few cursed conquistadors and German prince Joachim with similar intention along the way.
