23 Mar – Keanu Reeves is on the roll. After the success of his many films of late, it was revealed that the actor will have his comic book "BRZRKR" turned into both a live-action adaptation and animated series by Netflix. Netflix shared the good news on Twitter by posting an image of Reeves' said comic book, stating, "Exciting news! Netflix is developing a live-action film AND follow up anime series based on Keanu Reeves' BRZRKR, a brutally epic saga about an immortal warrior's 80,000 year fight through the ages." The streaming giant also added that the two projects will also be co-produced, starred and voiced (for the animated series) by Reeves himself.
Based on an original idea by Reeves, BRZRKR is co-written by the John Wick star and New York Times bestselling writer Matt Kindt, with illustrations by Marvel artist Ron Garney. The first issue of the 12-issue limited series launched on 3 March and has already old over 615,000 copies. "Brzrkr" (pronounced "berserker") is described as a "brutally epic saga about an immortal warrior's 80,000 year fight through the ages. The man known only as 'B' (Reeves) is half-mortal and half-god, cursed and compelled to violence... even at the sacrifice of his sanity. But after wandering the earth for centuries, B may have finally found a refuge – working for the U.S. government to fight the battles too violent and too dangerous for anyone else. In exchange, B will be granted the one thing he desires – the truth about his endless blood-soaked existence...and how to end it." It is noted that Reeves has just recently completed production on "Matrix 4", and will begin the fourth instalment of "John Wick" soon.
