27 Jan – It is official - Kevin Hart will be starring in the upcoming Lionsgate adaptation of the popular video game, "Borderlands", which is set to co-star Cate Blanchett. The actor shared the good news on Twitter on 26 January, writing, "This is a BIG one... So excited to be working with Cate Blachett [and] Eli Roth on such an amazing project. "Borderlands"... Wooooow. God is [good]! Let's [go]." Roth, who will be directing the movie, also expressed similar enthusiasm about working with the renowned comedian, saying that it would be a different kind of role for the funny actor. "We are excited to thrill audiences with a side of Kevin they've never seen before. He's going to be an amazing Roland," he added. Roland, the character Hart is set to play, is a skilled ex-soldier-turned-mercenary and one of the original Vault Hunters aside from hunter Mordecai, strongman brawler Brick, and the siren Lilith - the latter to be played by Blanchett. "Chernobyl" creator Craig Mazin penned the script.
Hart's last appearance was in the 2019 sequel of his hit movie, "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle". The actor also has several other projects in the pipeline including the action-comedy, "Man From Toronto", and drama, "Fatherhood". The video game "Borderlands" is a role-playing shooter game that launched in 2009, set on the planet of Pandora.
