30 Aug – It looks like Disney's "The Lion King" live-action prequel is moving forward as planned, as two actors have been confirmed for the project. "Old" actor Aaron Pierre and Kelvin Harrison Jr., who starred in "The Trial of the Chicago 7", will be playing the two lead characters Mufasa and Taka. Pierre will play Mufasa while Harrison Jr. is playing Taka. Mufasa, as everybody knows, is the king of the Pride Lands and father of Simba in the original, while Taka is revealed to be the true name of his antagonistic brother, Scar.
It is possible that the movie will be based on the Disney children's book "A Tale of Two Brothers", written by Alex Simmons as a tie-in to the 1994 movie. No news as to the rest of the cast, though it was revealed the same photo-realistic animation used in the 2019 live-action Jon Favreau-remake will be used again in the prequel.
