17 Mar – Mena Massoud has set Star Wars fans' tongues wagging with his recent Instagram post, sparking rumours that he could be the next actor to join the said sci-fi fantasy franchise. It all started on 16 March, the "Aladdin" star shared a topless photo on the social media platform, captioning it, "Hey, just so you know, when I escape I won't hurt any of you." Though some fans were just happy that the Egyptian-Canadian actor is showing skin online, others - Star Wars fans to be exact - noticed that the caption sounded familiar, and later realised that it was a reference to a line uttered by the Lothal orphan-turned-Jedi character Ezra Bridger from the animated feature, "Star Wars Rebels".
It is noted that there have been rumours that Lucasfilm is looking to reintroduce more Rebels characters in an upcoming Star Wars project, after the successes of their popular animated characters moving to live-action like Bo-Katan Kryze and Ahsoka Tano, which recently appeared on season 2 of "The Mandalorian". However, there is no actual confirmation of such a project for now. As for now, Massoud is busy filming Netflix's "The Royal Treatment", while Disney reportedly is currently developing a sequel for "Aladdin".
