9 Feb – Following news that Chris Pine ("Wonder Woman") has been cast in a Dungeons & Dragons movie, it was revealed that Michelle Rodriguez and Justice Smith will also be joining the project. The two actors, known for movies like "Fast & Furious" and "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" reportedly have agreed to be a part of the new project to be helmed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein of "Game Night" fame. Although no details have been revealed about the project, it was reported that Daley and Goldstein are also writing the fantasy film based on an earlier draft by Michael Gilio. Hasbro's Brian Goldner as well as Jeremy Latcham will be producing along with Paramount.
Sources claimed that the movie will be a cross between "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Pirates of the Caribbean", with Pine playing the role of the battle-tested hero and Rodriguez playing a fierce warrior. Smith reportedly will play a lovable half-elf wizard. First published in 1974, Dungeons & Dragons (also known by the abbreviations D&D) is a fantasy tabletop role-playing game (RPG) created by Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson in which players are allowed to create their own character that will embark upon imaginary adventures within a fantasy setting with the help of a Dungeon Master. In a previous report, it was revealed that "John Wick" writer Derek Kolstad is also developing a TV series based on the popular game.
