24 Jun – Netflix really does know where it's at when it comes to its younger viewers, as it recently picked up the rights to Maurene Goo's romance novel, "Somewhere Only We Know".
The upcoming feature film project will be helmed by Lana Cho ("Four Weddings and a Funeral"), with Goo herself set to executive produce the project.
The young adult novel tells the story of a huge K-pop star named Lucky and a tabloid photographer named Jack as they wander through the neon streets of Hong Kong, finding both adventure and love.
The book, which was released in 2019, was named Cosmopolitan Best Young Adult Book of 2019.
No news as to who will play the two leads.
Netflix is no stranger to releasing young adult romances, having had successes with titles like "To All The Boys I've Loved Before" (based on the novel by Jenny Han), "The Kissing Booth" (based on the novel by Beth Reekles) and "Sierra Burgess Is a Loser", the latter a modern retelling of the 1897 play "Cyrano de Bergerac" by Edmond Rostand.
