5 May – Will we get to see Christina Ricci back in all black for another Addams Family project? It seems likely, as sources revealed that Netflix is now looking at the actress to star in their upcoming TV series of their upcoming Addams Family project, "Wednesday". The actress, who has played Wednesday in the previous 1991 and 1993 movie adaptations of the franchise, is now a dream cast to play the matriarch Morticia for the upcoming Tim Burton show - a character that has been made popular by several other actresses including Carolyn Jones and Anjelica Huston.
While there has been no news as to whether Ricci will play the role, and no words on how far the process has gone to bring the actress into the project, it is noted that Ricci had expressed interest in returning to the franchise in previous interviews. On the other hand, it was reported that the series is also considering several actresses to play the titular character Wednesday, including Jenna Ortega ("You") and Bailee Madison ("Once Upon a Time"). However, sources claimed that the studio prefers actresses of a Latin descent for the role. "Wednesday" the series is described as a coming-of-age story focusing on the character during her years as a student at Nevermore Academy. No official updates have been released since February.
