22 Oct – Despite previously losing to "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" with its opening number, it looks like Daniel Craig's James Bond swansong, "No Time to Die" is now the second highest grossing Hollywood film of 2021. The movie, which has made USD 452.6 million at the international box office, is now leaving "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" in the dust, second only to "F9: The Fast Saga", the latter which made USD 716 million at the box office when it was released earlier this year. The film is also now Universal's biggest movie of all time, beating previous record-holder, "Mamma Mia!"
It is noted that the film has yet to be released in some countries, with China to release the film on 29 October and Australia in early November. On the other hand, two movies from China are still dominating the top two for 2021 box office takings, with "Hi, Mom", a time-travel drama starring Jia Ling, Shen Teng, and Zhang Xiaofei at the top with USD 822 million, while "The Battle at Lake Changjin" in second place with USD 769 million.
