30 Sep – Speculations have now arisen regarding the fate of Marvel's upcoming movie, "Blade", after it was revealed that director Bassam Tariq will no longer be helming the movie. News of Tariq's departure was announced by the studio recently, stating, "Due to continued shifts in our production schedule, Bassam is no longer moving forward as director of Blade but will remain an executive producer on the film." "We appreciate Bassam's talent and all the work he's done getting Blade to where it is."
Prior to his withdrawal, the movie was gearing up to begin shooting in November in Atlanta. It is noted that the film, one of Marvel's most anticipated projects since it was announced in 2019, received its release date earlier at the San Diego Comic-Con, revealing it to be 3 November 2023. With Tariq gone, Marvel is rushing to find his replacement before production starts, or the movie may have to be delayed to another date, possibly pushing other Marvel movies out of its slots as well. Other Marvel films that already has a release date after "Blade" are "Captain America: New World Order" (May 2024) and "Thunderbolt" (July 2024).
