22 Feb – Channing Tatum recently admitted that it is no easy feat trying to gain the physique he had for the "Magic Mike" movies, which is why he originally didn't want to do movie number three. The actor, who appeared on "The Kelly Clarkson Show" recently, laughed when the show shared an image from the movie, and said that it might be the reason he was hesitant on doing it. "It's hard to look like... even if you do work out, to be that kind of in shape, it's not natural," he said. When asked if he has to eat well to look the part, Tatum said that it was not even healthy, and that one basically has to starve oneself. "I don't think when you're that lean, it's actually healthy for you," he added.
Tatum said that he is unsure how people who work 9 to 5 are able to stay in shape when he can't even do so despite it being his full-time job. "If you work out twice a day, you have to eat completely right at a certain time. It's a specific thing," he explained. On the other hand, Tatum also revealed that actress Thandiwe Newton, who is cast in the third film, is considered Mike's equal. "We really wanted like a central character that was at least an equal, if not even more of a central character [than] Mike because it should be told at some point through a female's perspective what the world is and how sex or freedom or relationships kind of like evolve around her world," he said. The upcoming movie will be premiering exclusively on HBO Max. Tatum is currently promoting his directorial effort, "Dog".
