19 Dec – After he was snubbed for Andrew Garfield in "The Amazing Spider-Man" more than ten years ago, Donald Glover is set to star in his own Spider-Man movie...

...but not as Spider-Man.

The actor-rapper is now attached to star and produce an upcoming Sony Pictures' movie about the Hypno-Hustler - a lesser-known Spider-Man villain first appeared in 1978.

Created by Bill Mantlo, the character first appeared in "Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man" No.24, as a villain named Antoine Delsoin/Hypno-Hustler, a band leader who uses hypnosis technology to rob others.

The upcoming film will be written by Myles Murphy, who is also the son of THE Eddie Murphy.

It is noted that Glover was a fan favourite to play Spider-Man when Sony was looking for one to star in the film in early 2010s. However, he lost the role to Andrew Garfield.

Despite that, Glover is no stranger to the franchise, having voiced Spider-Man/Miles Morales in Disney XD's "Ultimate Spider-Man" in 2015 and appeared briefly in Marvel's "Spider-Man: Homecoming".
