The EUFF aims to showcase Europe's rich cultural diversity with these critically acclaimed independent films, displaying the best of European cinema with award winning actors, directors and crew. "Mother of Apostles" opens the film festival with a story that tells of immeasurable maternal love. For the sake of saving her child, a mother is capable of doing anything, even going through the hell of war. Through her eyes, we see the horrors of war: the life of people living in the occupied territories, the faces distorted and lives stopped by the war. The film is inspired by true events that took place in Eastern Ukraine in 2014. The EUFF also features an inspirational family-friendly animated film, "Even Mice Belong in Heaven" explores the idea of an uncanny friendship between two animals, a mouse and a fox. It is a story that touches on familiar lessons in life and shares the values about selflessness, generosity and loyalty, messages that are relevant today. This film will bring fun and laughter for both kids and parents alike.
"Doctor On Call" is a comedy drama about a 65-year-old doctor working as a night-shift medical guard and Mario, a pizza delivery rider, learning to support each other and change each other's life for the better in the midst of a series of misadventures. EUFF tickets are sold at RM9.50 whilst the following eight movies will be screened for free - "Schoolgirls" (Spain), "Doctor On Call" (Italy), "My Brother Chases Dinosaurs" (Italy), "Goodwill Dumping" (Netherlands), "Disco" (Norway), "Catwalk" (Sweden), "The Stronghold" (Ukraine) and "Mother of Apostles" (Ukraine).
