7 Nov – The "Gran Turismo" movie has added two more cast members in the likes of "Shazam!" actor Djimon Hounsou and former Spice Girls, Geri Halliwell. The two actors will be joining lead actor Archie Madekwe in playing the roles of his character's parents. In a previous report, it was revealed that the story will revolve around a teenager (Madekwe), an avid Gran Turismo player whose skills helped turn him into a professional driver.
It is noted that aside from the three actors, others that have been confirmed include David Harbour, Orlando Bloom, and Darren Barnett. Harbour is set to play a former driver who taught the teenager what he needs to know about racing, while Bloom to play an antagonistic marketing executive. The movie will be helmed by Neill Blomkamp of "District 9" fame based on the story penned by Jason Hall ("American Sniper") and Zach Baylin ("King Richard"). It is set to release in theatres on 11 August 2023.
