22 Jul – Producers Anthony and Joe Russo recently stated that the upcoming live-action remake of Disney's "Hercules" will have a modern spin on the Olympian tale. The two brothers, who spoke to the media during the press event for their new movie, "The Gray Man", said that they truly loved the original 1997 animated feature for how funny and subversive it is. "I think we try to embrace that sense of humor in the remake," said Joe Russo.
Back in November, it was reported that "Aladdin" director Guy Ritchie will helm the project. The previous animated feature has Tate Donovan voicing the character Hercules, joined by Danny DeVito (Philoctetes), James Wood (Hades), and Susan Egan (Megara). No release date has been determined for the movie, with Disney to focus on the upcoming live-action remake of "The Little Mermaid" starring Halle Bailey. The movie will be released on 26 May 2023.
