8 Apr – It was almost a crime that Idina Menzel - THE Idina Menzel of "Defying Gravity" and "Let It Go" fame, did not sing even once in the original "Enchanted" movie. But fret not, as co-star James Marsden recently revealed that the Broadway star will indeed share her vocal prowess in the sequel, "Disenchanted". The actor shared the good news at the premiere of his new movie, "Sonic the Hedgehog 2", saying, "Yeah, 15 years later, we did the Enchanted sequel with Amy Adams and Patrick [Dempsey] and Idina Menzel, and Idina actually gets to sing this time. The first time, she was in a movie musical and did not sing. I don't understand that."
"But this time, Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz wrote all-new original music for the sequel. I think people are going to be very pleased when that comes out," he added. It is noted that in the original film, released in 2007, Menzel played the role of Nancy Tremaine, a fashion designer and girlfriend to Patrick Dempsey's Robert Philip who ends up following Prince Edward (James Marsden) back to Andalasia.
