1 Jun - If there is one thing Kamal Haasan regrets, it's the lack of collaboration between him and Hindi's renowned veteran actor, Dilip Kumar.

The actor, who spoke to the media recently, revealed that he actually had wanted to work with the late Hindi star, and even begged the latter to work with him in the Bollywood remake of his 1992 Tamil film, "Thevar Magan", which co-starred Sivaji Ganesan.

"I really held his hand and begged him but he had decided not to act. I wanted to make Thevar Magan with him and me, but it didn't happen so I gave it to another friend and he made it with Anil Kapoor and Amrish Puri," he said.

The said movie, "Virasat", became a big hit when it came out in 1997, and even received 16 nominations at the 43rd Filmfare Awards.

In a previous interview, Kamal revealed that the reason Dilip said no to the project was because of its violent theme.

"He found the theme too violent. And he has sworn never to do violent films," he said.

Dilip Kumar, real name Mohamed Yusuf Khan, passed away in July last year at the age of 98 after a prolonged illness. He and wife Saira Banu have no children together.
