21 Jul – Abdul Rahman Mt Dali, Studio Kembara managing director and producer of the multi-million movie, "Mat Kilau: Kebangkitan Pahlawan" has denied rumours that Netflix has already acquired the movie for RM7 million.

The producer, who spoke to Harian Metro recently stated that director Syamsul Yusof made the mistake when it comes to the amount of money offered by the streaming giant, and that the two companies are still currently in talks.


"At first, they wanted to acquire the movie for RM5.5 million for a span of ten years. Most recently, they offered RM2 million for a shorter period of release on Netflix," he said.

Abdul Rahman said that he hasn't made any decision when it comes to the topic, adding that he is still deliberating on the offer that comes with the new terms.

As to how much the film has made in theatres to-date, he stated, "I haven't received the latest box office number, but I expected that it has surpassed RM84 million."

On the other hand, it was revealed that the state government of Terengganu has expressed interest to work with Syamsul to helm Terengganu's own heroes, Haji Abdul Rahman Limbong and Tokku Paloh.
