2 Aug – The Michelle Yeoh-starrer, "Everything Everywhere All At Once" is now the first ever movie from indie company, A24 to reach a box office status. The black comedy, which began screening in theatres in March, has now crossed USD 100 million in global ticket sales, making it the first film of the studio to do so, since "Hereditary" with USD 79 million. The Malaysian-born actress also took to social media to express her happiness with the news, writing, "Millions THANK YOU for supporting us and the cinemas."
Founded in 2012 by Daniel Katz, David Fenkel and John Hodges, A24 is known for its critically acclaimed movies that include the likes of "Midsommar", "Uncut Gems", "The Lighthouse", and "Minari". In "Everything Everywhere All At Once", which was made with a budget of USD 25 million, Yeoh plays Evelyn Wang, a struggling laundromat owner who discovers she has to connect with parallel universe versions of herself to prevent cataclysmic destruction.
