No James Bond film for at least the next two years

1 Jul - It looks like fans of Agent 007 may have to wait a little longer for a new movie, as it was revealed that the team has yet to find their next James Bond.

Barbara Brocolli, producer of the franchise, shared recently that the next instalment of the franchise will be a "reinvention" of the character.

"Nobody's in the running," said Brocolli. "We're working out where to go with him, we're talking that through. There isn't a script and we can't come up with one until we decide how we're going to approach the next film because, really, it's a reinvention of Bond."

"We're reinventing who he is and that takes time. I'd say that filming is at least two years away," she added.

It is noted that the discussion about the next James Bond has been going on for years now, with some wanting the next actor to be of a different ethnicity rather than the same white male actor, while traditional fans of the franchise would rather it stay true to the original works of Ian Fleming.

The last James Bond film, "No Time to Die" was released in 2021, and marked the fifth and last time Daniel Craig played the character.
