2 Mar – After trying (and failing) to deny that he is in the upcoming "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness", veteran actor Patrick Stewart recently relented, saying that he was surprised by how easy fans were able to recognise him in the trailer. In an interview with Jake's Takes recently, the actor, who plays Professor Charles Xavier, was asked about his thoughts on the said trailer, saying that he turned his phone off when it came out during the Super Bowl. "It wasn't until the next morning when I woke up and looked at my phone and found that I had been bombarded with responses. My PR people had sent me reactions that they had detailed and passed onto me," he said.
Stewart stated that he was astonished as to how the fans were able to recognise him in the trailer when he himself didn't recognise his own voice. It is noted that the only scene of Stewart that was released in the trailer was nothing more than the partial back of his head and his voice saying, "We should tell him the truth". "All they saw was the back of my shoulder and I think my earlobe, nothing else - that there would have been so many connections made. But it pleased me [to see the reactions]," he said. The upcoming "Doctor Strange" movie, directed by Sam Raimi, will be released on 5 May.
