9 Dec – Priyanka Chopra is one of the four Indian women who has been chosen to be a part of the BBC 100 Women list. The Bollywood-turned-Hollywood actress, recognised as one of the 100 inspiring and influential women from around the world, is lauded for not only her success in breaking into Hollywood and becoming the first South Asian actress to lead an American network drama series when she was cast in "Quantico", but also for her many other successes. This include establishing her own production company, and becoming the UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, campaigning for children's rights and education for girls.
Some other notable names included in the BBC 100 most influential women's lists are European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottle, music star Billie Eilish, actress and disability activist Selma Blair, as well as novelist and writer, Geetanjali Shree. Priyanka is married to singer-actor Nick Jonas. The couple welcomed their first child Malti Marie Chopra Jonas this year.
