15 Apr – Salma Hayek is set to star in the third instalment of the "Magic Mike" franchise, "Magic Mike's The Last Dance".
The news was announced by Warner Bros. rep, saying that the "Eternals" star will be replacing original actress Thandiwe Newton.
"Thandiwe Newton has made the difficult decision to step away from the production of Warner Bros. Pictures' Magic Mike's Last Dance to deal with family matters," the rep added.
The film is currently in production in London, helmed by original director, Steven Soderbergh, and stars Channing Tatum in the lead.
No plot details have been released at this time, though it will be premiering on HBO Max.
Prior to her departure, it was rumoured that Newton and Tatum had a big row regarding the debacle surrounding the Will Smith-Chris Rock slap Oscar debacle. However, the actress had since denied it.
