10 Aug - Paramount Pictures has found the release date for the third instalment of its successful hybrid adaptation of "Sonic the Hedgehog". The news was announced by the official social media accounts of the said movie on 8 August, writing, "Running faster, flying higher, and punching harder. #SonicMovie3 hits theatres on December 20, 2024." On the other hand, with the December release for Sonic, Paramount decided to delay its "Smurfs" animated musical, which originally had the said slot.
The animated feature is now going to be in theatres in February 2025. For now, other movies tentatively scheduled to be released in December 2024 include the adaptation of Broadway musical, "Wicked" and James Cameron's "Avatar 3".
