28 Aug - It looks like Dune fans may have to wait a little longer for the movie to come out. It was reported that the Denis Villeneuve-movie, "Dune: Part Two" has been pushed to next year, seeing that its actors will not be able to promote the movie what with the ongoing SAG-AFTRA and WGA strike, as the performers are not allowed to take part in any movie-related activities during the strike.
The film was originally scheduled to open on 3 November this year, but has now been moved to 15 March 2024. The delay also meant that "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire", which has the original March slot, has now been pushed back to April 2024, while the animated film, "Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim", which had the April slot, will now be released in December 2024.
Despite the "Dune: Part Two" delay, Warner Bros maintains the release date for December 2023 movies, including "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom" (20th), "The Color Purple (25th), as well as "Wonka" (15th), the latter also starring "Dune" actor Timothee Chalamet in the lead. Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken and Léa Seydoux are part of the second instalment of the "Dune" franchise, while Chalamet and Zendaya will return as Paul Atreides and Chani respectively.
