19 Jun – It was revealed that "The Flash" director Andy Muschietti is now moving from the fastest man alive to the richest superhero alive. It was revealed that the filmmaker is currently finalising a deal to direct "The Brave and the Bold", a feature project that will introduce a new version of Batman that is part of James Gunn and Peter Safran's universe. In a statement released by the DC Studios heads, they said, "We saw The Flash even before taking the reins at DC Studios, and knew we were in the hands of not only a visionary director but a massive DC fan." "It's a magnificent film – funny, emotional, thrilling – and Andy's affinity and passion for these characters and this world just resonates through every frame. So, when it came time to find a director for The Brave and the Bold, there was really only one choice. Luckily, Andy said yes. Barbara [Muschietti] signed on to produce with us and we were on our way. They're an extraordinary team, and we couldn't have better or more inspiring partners as we embark on this thrilling new adventure in the DCU." No news as to whether the project has a writer. Muschietti previously worked with Christina Hodson on "The Flash", but the scribe is now working on the "Fast and Furious" movies. Sources revealed that "The Brave and the Bold" will introduce the character of Damian Wayne, a murderous tween raised by assassins, and also the son of Batman that he never knew he had.
