7 Feb – While half of the internet believes that Austin Butler is still pretending to be Elvis Presley, the actor himself recently responded to the allegations by saying that playing the character has destroyed his original voice a bit.

The actor, who appeared alongside Michelle Yeoh and other guests on "The Graham Norton Show" recently, told the British host that his vocal cords has become raspier after doing the movie, having to do all the singing himself in the earlier parts of the film.

Butler said that he was told by his publicist that people have been questioning his voice on social media, adding, "It really made me self-conscious for a second because I thought, 'Am I being phony? Is this not my voice?"

In a previous interview following his Golden Globe Best Actor win, Butler stated that he didn't think he still sounded like Elvis, except that he kept being told that he does.

"I often liken it to when somebody lives in another country for a long time, and I had three years where that was my only focus in life. So, I'm sure that there's just pieces of my DNA that will always be linked in that way," he added.
