11 May – After so much anticipation, Warner Bros. finally sets a date for the upcoming sequel to Tim Burton's "Beetlejuice". The upcoming movie, which will have Burton returning as the director, is now scheduled for 6 September 2024 release. Previously, it was reported that Michael Keaton is expected to return as the titular character, while Jenna Ortega, who stars in Burton's "Wednesday" series, will be playing a role as Lydia Deetz's daughter.
However, no news as to whether Winona Ryder will return as Lydia. The upcoming project will also reunite Burton and Ortega with Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the duo who penned "Wednesday". The original 1988 movie starred Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis as ghosts who haunt their old home as a way to repel the new homeowners with the help of a mischievous spirit called the Betelgeuse.
