10 Apr – Daisy Ridley is set to return as Rey in one of the three new "Star Wars" films recently announced by Lucasfilm. The actress is set to reprise her role as the female Jedi Master in an upcoming project by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy ("Ms. Marvel"), which is set 15 years after the events of "Rise of Skywalker", the last "Star Wars" movie that was released on the big screen. This also marks the first time for "Star Wars" to have a woman and person of colour directing a film for its franchise. Ridley is not saying much about the return, though stated that she is thrilled to be continuing the journey. In the last movie, released in 2019, her character Rey took on the last name Skywalker as she carries the legacy of Luke and Leia to become a full Jedi. Aside from the said project, Lucasfilm's Kathleen Kennedy also revealed two other "Star War" movies in the works, one from director James Mangold ("Indiana Jones 5"), and another by Dave Filoni of "The Mandalorian" fame.
